That time of the year again…

That would be getting that spring cleaning done, and also getting my balcony ready for it.  This year I really want to decorate it.  Get it looking all beautified and decked out.  There are a couple of things I saw, that I think would look good on my patio.  Here are a couple of things I took a photo of, that I have been thinking of.

Solar glass art ball.  Think this would look awesome.

Galileo outdoor thermometer.  Always liked the indoor ones, now getting one for the outside.  Along with patio table, chairs and perhaps plants and bench stools.  Ah time to start planning stage 1 outdoor.  To be continued.

Checked off.

So another thing checked off my list of things to do in Austin.  Oh about 5 or so years ago, when I had another blog, I had made a list of the things I wanted to do, and there were plenty that included my move to Austin, and in that the things that Austin had to provide, one of which was the Trail of Lights tour.  Checked off my list Saturday.  I and a friend went down to Zilker Park, and did the trail of lights, and it was awesome, beyond what my mind had expected.  Some told me not to get too excited, but pshh on them, I was all excited.  One for the fact, that I was attending this, and another because I had never gone on a light tour, so much fun indeed.

The trip started with a bus ride to pick up friend at another bus stop, took my umbrella, because the forecast called for lots of rain, and cold, good to be prepared right.  So stopped at designated stop, got off and met friend, walked over to her car, and in that instant figured out I had left my umbrella onboard the bus that had just pulled off and was on its way.  Doh!  Another umbrella lost, but my coat had a hoodie on it, so I was protected just in case the rains came.

We caught the next metro rapid bus, to downtown where we picked up a shuttle that was going to the trail of lights, in fact this shuttle would be dropping us off right there, no fuss, no wait, no crazy parking, it only cost five dollars per person, round trip, so I paid both our ways, and it was easy, breezy, peasy.  Next stop, Trail of lights.    We got there, got off the shuttle and proceeded to enjoy the lights.  Here are just a few photos I took that night.  It was so much fun, I had a good friend there to enjoy the time with, and got another thing checked off my Austin List.

These are little solar powered umbrella clip lanterns.  They are made to clip onto your umbrella.  Well since I have no umbrella, and they caught my eye, figured I had to get them.  So I did.  They will be hung on my balcony, will make good lighting on my balcony along with how I am wanting to get it decorated this year.  Stay tuned for that project.

Beyond 365

Day 364:

Today I am…  Growing!  Reaching, stretching, and learning.  Yes, I am growing.  What a difference between the years.  I have seen many things with these eyes, and have heard many things with these ears.  I have explored places, eaten new things, and have made friends.  Time will tell if they are long lasting.  I have learned more about myself this way, than I ever could the way things were before.

I believe I am a little more wiser, and a bit more stronger from it all.  I can put forth more effort, and will.  I look around, and I see my personal growth.  I see God in my life more, I see His Favor and Grace.  The love of family, and if friends online and off.  I see so much growth.  It is a beautiful season for growth.

Today I am seeing my mother and sister.  Ladies day.  We shall shop, drink wine, and decorate my tree.  Oh, and eat as well.  Today will be an awesome day my readers and friends.  So enjoy yourselves.

Today I am…  Growing!

Day 323:

Today I am…  Still in phase one.  Yes today I put some green and silver garland around the window, and some lights as well.  Put some white around the balcony, but not for sure if I am going to keep it that way.  Might do something completely different for that, shall see in time.  Yes, now that is done for the day.

Got new downstairs neighbors.  They seem nice, time will tell.  Dam mosquitoes are tearing me up!  Oh the itch!

Tomorrow is Halloween, nope, not dressing up for it, but looking forward to seeing what shows up at work.  No parties for me, just going to stay in and watch movies.  Leave all that other stuff to the ones who enjoy it.  If y’all do it, be safe out there.

More Phase One photos…
