Praise Him!

Church was stellar today, life class equally refreshing.  Just listing to praise and worship songs on pandora, makes me cry, these songs are the songs we both loved, and sang in church, and with one anither, they fill my heart.  I know she woul be happy right now knowing I am in church, that we all are in church.  Getting closer to God, His Word.  Today I am starting Proverbs in the Bible, I will read a passage each day.  God has done so much for my soul and spirit, in these times.  It is I who must draw closer to him.

I totally admire my friend Olivia, who went to Honduras, mission work.  God is totally blessing this woman, she is truly the church in this world.  I have been thinking of volunteering in the church bookstore.  To be continued…

I know there are some major areas in my life that need cleaning up, I pray to God everyday to guide my steps, to give me discernment, and give me wisdom to see the truth of things, to send the ones that are supposed to be in my life, and the ones that are not to remove the ones that do not belong.

Did God remove mom from my life, because of a journey I need to be on, without her, I do wonder, but there are roads we have to walk.  We will never be alone, because He is with us.  Gods reasons are not our reasons.  A time, and season for all. It has been 4 Sundays since she passed.  I cried today.  It will get better, this I know in my soul.

I love you mom.

Finally!!!

I have found my long lost friend.  I have searched, and searched and today searched once again, and bingo I have found her.  She and her husband and children  have been residing in Texas for 16 years.  Crazy, its been over twenty something years we have been out of touch.  This truely makes my soul happy to get back in touch with her.  Life is good!

Sucky Service, but dam good food!

So yesterday, me and a friend went out to eat, we chose to stop by the Applebees on N IH35.  We were seated, and our waitress came and took our order, first off, I asked for water with lemon, and I got Water with no lemon.  Next we ordered our food; I got the order of Chicken Tenders and Fries, my friend ordered a Grilled Steak and potatoes, the food was very delicious.  The service not so; my friend had gotten a Blackberry Honey Iced tea, after I tasted hers, I ordered one as well.  It took like forever to get that tea, plus she had messed up other peoples orders as well, she had to keep coming back to tables to re get what they had ordered, then she gave me a refill, of the suppose tea, which happen to be just plain tea, and not the blackberry honey.  It is a good thing the friend was paying, for that waitress would not have gotten any kind of tip, Besides that, the food was delicious.  Eat your heart out.

I won’t be going back to this particular Applebees , but there are others to choose from in the city.

A Day at the Park

Today, I helped my mom take down here Christmas tree, sure, you are probably thinking that this should have been done a few weeks ago, well you are probably right, as would my mom be, but I convinced her to keep it up a few more weeks, but today was here point were she wanted it down, so it came down and got packed up for another year.

So then as the day went on, got together with my friend, and we took a trip out to Mayfield park, I had never been there, and for me, it was another adventure in Austin.  Here are a couple of photos that I took, the view was amazing to me, I would say it was peaceful, but that would be crazy, it was full of peacocks, and peacocks are loud, beautiful; but loud.  I still had a blast going to this park.

We were going to go to Mount Bonnel, but it was so crowded trying to find parking, think we will have to choose another day to hit that spot, from what little I’ve seen riding up that way, it will be a most awesome trip.  So I hope you enjoy these photos, because I had a great day today.

Checked off.

So another thing checked off my list of things to do in Austin.  Oh about 5 or so years ago, when I had another blog, I had made a list of the things I wanted to do, and there were plenty that included my move to Austin, and in that the things that Austin had to provide, one of which was the Trail of Lights tour.  Checked off my list Saturday.  I and a friend went down to Zilker Park, and did the trail of lights, and it was awesome, beyond what my mind had expected.  Some told me not to get too excited, but pshh on them, I was all excited.  One for the fact, that I was attending this, and another because I had never gone on a light tour, so much fun indeed.

The trip started with a bus ride to pick up friend at another bus stop, took my umbrella, because the forecast called for lots of rain, and cold, good to be prepared right.  So stopped at designated stop, got off and met friend, walked over to her car, and in that instant figured out I had left my umbrella onboard the bus that had just pulled off and was on its way.  Doh!  Another umbrella lost, but my coat had a hoodie on it, so I was protected just in case the rains came.

We caught the next metro rapid bus, to downtown where we picked up a shuttle that was going to the trail of lights, in fact this shuttle would be dropping us off right there, no fuss, no wait, no crazy parking, it only cost five dollars per person, round trip, so I paid both our ways, and it was easy, breezy, peasy.  Next stop, Trail of lights.    We got there, got off the shuttle and proceeded to enjoy the lights.  Here are just a few photos I took that night.  It was so much fun, I had a good friend there to enjoy the time with, and got another thing checked off my Austin List.

To be continued…

Well perhaps this bit will be told with dazzling lights, and super good memories.  Ok, so I am all a buzz with delight.  I am also hoping that tomorrow nights adventure goes without rain, even though it is in the forecast.  I will be heading out to the trail of lights, my first time, and I just hope that the rains stay back until I have experienced this.   I will be experiencing  it with a very good friend, and that keeps me in good spirit and plenty of smiles.  So I am hoping to take some pretty pictures, and once that is done, I will post them here on my blog for all to see.

Life has been so busy lately, with all the family moved down here, and with the craziness that has been work, time is moving on, and moving forward, soon it will be the end of this year, and the start of the new year, to which I say…  Bring it!.  I continue to pray for better and that life gets more and more sweeter and richer for me and my family and friends.

May your days and nights continue to be very blessed, and may you all have all that you strive for.

Wine(ing) the day away

So October is here, and that makes me smile, this happens to be my birthday month.  I will grace 42 come Wednesday the 7th.  Life is well life these days.  I have had my ups and downs this year, but nothing that has broken me.  Stronger and wiser I say.

Today I am depending it with the rents, basking at their apartment.  Sitting on the patio balcony sipping wine with my mom as we talk and enjoy this fall weather.
