So as far as work goes, I am still with the company. They are now implementing core groups with specific skill sets. Today I was put in the newest group, Core C, there will be 7 clients in this group, I am trained on five of the seven. So I know classes for the other two will follow.
There will be bonus opportunities, so that makes me smile. The downside is some of the people in this core, I will ask for extraordinary patience on this one. To be continued.
Last weekend I attended both Saturday and Sundays Pecan Street Fest. Always fun. Went with a couple of coworkers, and even bought my mom something. She should be making an appearance this way soon, like in a couple of weeks.
The weather has been on/off the past few, storms and plenty of rain. Not complaining. The rain is a welcome relief from the allergies. Here’s to work, may it continue to be blessed.
Today I am… ToyRiffic! I know I have been busy, the news is that Toy Joy, the best toy store in Austin, has been re-deemed. A local buyer, bought it and it is re-opening today. The buyer has also decided to keep it where it is, and to hire on the last owners of the store, so they can continue to run it. This truly makes my heart happy, and puts a smile on my face.
This also means, that I am going to be able to take my mom there, when she comes down next weekend. This is an opportunity that I am not going to miss. So that means a trip downtown, also to the capitol, and perhaps down to lady bird lake. Since I’ve got those days off when she comes down, I am going to squeeze a couple of new things in. I love when she comes down, because that gives me opportunities to show her My Austin. It’s nice to explore the city you’re in by yourself every once in a while, how else are you going to get to know it. But I tell you it is so much better exploring it with another person, someone who marvels at the beauty, and enjoys it as much as you do, possibly even more.
Today I am ToyRiffic!
Today I am… A bit sad. Today I braved the blustery, cold windy gusts of the day to head down town to the best toy store ever. Today was Toy Joy’s last day of being open. I had to get down there to give it a proper good-bye. Especially to the Rody’s. Sure we made peace with one another, but still had to say good-bye. Oh the memories I had there, nice, and very much fun. Even though I had only been there twice to the old place before they moved to this new spot, and a couple of times at the new spot. I have to say Toy Joy will hold a special place in my heart. If you care to read about their story, I have added the link here, just click on it.
Of course I did not walk away without a little souvenir , I got myself a mini rody, so toy joy will be with me still. Where ever the two end up, I wish them well, it was a truly amazing store.
