Training Days…

Well today is day three of three weeks of training.  Hoping to pass tests next week.  The trainer just seems less than thrilled, basically the class is boring.  There are 21 of us stuck in a tiny cramped class,  it is a snoozefest.  Everything is done on a projector screen, I take notes by hand, she does not clue you in on what important notes should be taken.  You are just figuring it out as you go along.  The class participation is meh…  I just pray I soak it all in.  Stay tuned.

Between getting home around 6 and taking in the Olympics, that has been my week.  Then dinner, and off to bed to start it all over again.  I am glad that the training schedule has the weekends off.  I can do something this Saturday, probably  go to the mall.  Speaking of Olympics, did anyone catch those swimming finals oh yeah!  They worked it out. Well, time to get this day started, gotta keep hydrated, it’s hot out there y’all.  Enjoy your day.

Today was a good day…

First day of the new job.  Went well, no first day jitters for me, probably because I was just way ready to get back at it.  Bills wait for no one.  I feel confident that I will do well, more like I am praying I will do good.  Stay tuned!  Today was not as hot as yesterday and the day before, I can deal with it today.  I am returning to waking up at 5 am to get the 6 am bus.  Since this job is far south, out near the airport area.  I am going to do my best, try to get a whole year in if possible, then try for something a little more closer to the north.

Life has been chugging on for me.  Trying to keep cool in the heat of summer.  Especially since I hate staying indoors, when I can be out exploring, but for my health, I try to limit the outdoors to early mornings.

Gonna try to get to the pecan street festival next month.  Plus going to start attending church again.  Stay tuned as well.  Well this is it for now, until the next time.  Enjoy!

Thank you for calling…

How may I help you today?  Yes!  I passed my sign offs for training, and I did really good.  The trainer was even awed, but really, he wasn’t because he had confidence in me.  In fact in the whole class, there are just a few more sign offs that need to be done in this training class, and we graduate on Friday.  Yes!  I am now an Agent for a known purple and orange shipping company, for the website.  Anyhoo, I am still getting my shipping legs underneath me, I took a couple of calls today, oh my, but it is what it is, people are going to be people, the most part they were nice, and understanding, there were some that were not to stellar, but hey, not going to complain at this time in my life, I am blessed to have a job. Will get schedules Friday, it will be the 1 to 10pm spot for now, after 6 weeks, then we can bid on what schedules we want, I think for right now, I am going to keep what they give, there will be more time in the evening to get a better grip on the job at hand.  Stay tuned.

This has been a pretty exhausting week, and it is still not complete.  So I have been contemplating going down town this Saturday, to check out the last days of south by, ah, so much to think about.  If it happens, it happens, if it don’t  you won’t hear or see it.

I am now on season two of Arrow, this show is amazing.  Totally love it, totally.  I am now in season three or is it four of Agents of Shield, whatever it is, this show totally rocks as well.  2016, shaping up to be a good year in television.

So on that note, I need to get to my shows, stay tuned friends, family, and online readers.  I will keep you as informed as I can through my blog.  Enjoy your night.

That time of the year…

Besides tax time, I am talking about SXSW time…  Yes!, South By Southwest time is upon the world of Austin, Texas.  This year, the 30ith year of this festival, we will be graced with The President of The United States, yes, President Barack Obama, will be the key note speaker for the interactive portion of this, so today is going to be much abuzz.  Besides the crazy traffic that is going to happen, with both going on.  But I will survive, of course I will, I have nothing better to do than to survive.  I won’t get to see it anyway, and I don’t plan on heading anywhere downtown this week.  I would like to check out some of the music part, but  will probably stay clear as well, it’s all still up in the air, heck, it last until next weekend,so who knows.

So, I am on the last week of training, the class graduates next Friday, still a little nervous, but with a better grasp of what is what, heck how can I not have some sort of grasp, it’s been almost six weeks of deep training.   I will comment more next week end lol.

This week has been mucho rainy, it is still raining, we needed it, so I am not going to complain any, the cooler weather, is welcomed, but the spring weather is much sweeter.  Looking forward to taking photos of the blue bonnets.  Anyhoo, time to get ready for the day.  Much going on this weekend, here’s to a safe, fun, and awesome one.

Week One Down

Booya!  I made it through week one of my training, and there was a point in the beginning of the week, that I did not think I could do it, but as the days went on, and through Thursday, I started to feel that, this is really attainable.  I mean, I am still scared, because I really don’t know how to talk to people over the phone, meaning that I get nervous when I have to say more than a couple of words, it is strange will have to go into that at another day, but I do believe I am soaking it all in, we have lots and lots to cover, and I feel more like I will be able to do this.  Plus, the instructor is so funny, and cool, he makes it worth while, we started out as a class of 30, now we are a class of 26, hopefully I am able to keep in there as well.  We take our test on Monday, over all that we covered for the week.  I feel good this week.  I have today and tomorrow off, but back at it again Monday for week two.  Will definitely keep all updated on how things are going.  For now, I and my mom are off to the mall to do some retail therapy.  So here’s to Keeping it fly.

Nailed it!

That would be the interview I had scheduled for today, yes, I nailed that bitch down.  They made me an offer right on the spot.  Now by no means does it mean I am all the way in, I am in by way of getting the offer, and starting the intense 7 week training leading up to the actual job, if you know what I mean.  I start the training on the 8th of next month.  It is Monday thru Friday, from 8 to 5, for seven weeks, 4 weeks training, 2 weeks of phone and being on the floor, taking calls, and putting in what you have learned, and 1 week of everything else, then if that is aced, then I will be on the floor and one of the agents there.  Oh Lord, thank you.  I am going to have to really buckle down, take notes like no ones business and get my mind prepared to do this.  New year, new endeavors.  That interview, might have been the hardest I had to do, but I prepared a little more than usual.  I am just thanking the Lord for more opportunities that keep on coming my way.  Stay tuned…

In light of great news for me, sad news for the world once again, Glen Frey died the other night.   So very tragic,  I wanted to see The Eagles when they performed here in Austin last year, but was not able to do that.  Here today, gone tomorrow at times, may he rest in peace.  This starting year, has really been a sad beginning in the world of music, and television.

Speaking of television, I just started watching this show on NetFlix last night, the first season of The Gates.  It is about a gate guarded community, and the new police chief that is in charge of policing it.  Behind the gates, hold lots, and lots of secrets. Vampires, witches, wearwolves, oh my!  So many secrets.  I am liking it, so tonight I just may finish up this first season.  Looking forward also to season 6 of Game of Thrones, as well, but that is not until April.  Hi ho friends, off to watch The gates, here’s to a great day, and awesome night, along with awesome winter weather here in Austin, sun shine, and smiles.
