Week 25:  ( picture this )

Another new food find.  Figured, hey let’s just see.  Of course I am not a fish fan, they did have other things that I could indulge in.  Took mom and dad there, they loved it, so did I.  Looks like another added to the good food lists.

They had the catfish/shrimp combo.

And I had the chicken pasta plate.

So this has been, a very pleasing week.  Let the upcoming week be as sweet.

Wow!, just wow!

So today after work Pat and I went to The Thinkery.  It is a childrens museum, and let me tell you, it was amazing, I wish they had a museum like this when I was a kid. We then went to the park next to it, there was a couple of food trucks there.  One was short bus subs.  We tried, oh my!  Yummalicious indeed.  I got the spring break.  Heaven!

Definitely two thumbs up.  The subs were delicious,  filling, and worth it.  I reccomend checking them out .  They were at Mueller park.

Not what I expected…

So the other day, I had an outing downtown, I went to the capitol, took some photos, then just browsed around, well I got hungry, so I decided to see what the to do about PTerry’s was about.  I knew they had opened shop on sixth and congress, so I just skipped on down there.  The line was long on the inside, mostly people waiting to get the food they ordered, the ordering line itself was not long.  So I looked at what they had and placed my order.  1 cheeseburger with pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and the sauce.  1 side of fries, and 1 caramel milkshake.  I waited for 20 min, then obtained my order.

So the slogan goes…  Never been better, well I think it could have been much better.  I paid $7.04 for all that you see before you, and it really could have been much better.  the milkshake really just tasted like a vanilla shake with caramel sauce, the fries were a bit too greasy and the burger did not have enough flavor to it,  It bordered on the bland.  If I had to give this a score from 1 to five I would give it a 2.  In fact I just gave it a 2, meaning to me it was an alright burger, nothing fancy, and nothing in my opinion to go over board about.  That’s just me, and this is just one more thing I have tried in Austin.

On to the next thing my friends, hope you have a great day, I sure will.

Exciting and new.

Today me and my mom tried out a new place in Austin to eat.  Baby A’s TeX Mex restaurant.  Close to where I live.  I have passed by this place everyday, today, when my mom said she had a craving for Mexican food.  I thought, hey maybe we can try Baby A’s…  I had heard this one was not really good.  But the one south was, well you really can’ t go by what others say at times.  Sometimes you have to judge for yourself.  Very glad I did.

Day 232:

Today I am…  Famished!  Yes!, today after my four-hour work day, had to go take care of some business, which found me downtown.  After my business was done, I was feeling quite hungry, so I walked, and walked, and walked some down town till I stopped at Murphy’s Deli.  I have passed this deli every time I have gone down town, today was the day to stop on in and see what was up.  I ordered a chicken pita, and I had a bottle of orange juice.  The pita was quite filling, and delicious.  It definitely hit the spot, so I got some fuel in me before I walked some more to the bus stop, it was a pretty hot day today, so I was glad to get on the bus out of the heat.  I was going to stop into the Starbucks, and get a frappachino, but looking at that line, I opted out, so glad that I did.  I got a delicious pita from a very nice deli, and I satisfied my hunger, win win if I say so.

Now, on to some house work, before I relax for the rest of the evening.  Here’s to having the rest of the day.  Enjoy!

Today I am…  Famished!

Day 33:

Today I am…  Pondering.  On whether I need to take down my Christmas tree or leave it up for at least another week.  Such hard decisions right?  I jokingly told my mom that I was going to leave my tree up for a whole year, just because I am me, and I could.  But really even though I can, I am not going to do that, I will probably take it down either in another week, or the week after.  I have already taken down the stockings from the fireplace mantle, and think I will put the wreath up.  I suppose it is time to put that season away.

Today the sun is shining, and it looks like it is going to be a pretty clear kind of Saturday.  Not the picture of yesterday.  You never know what you’re going to get with the weather here in Texas.  Well work today, of course it is going to be pretty busy, but I do not have to be there until 3 today.  So I get to get some things done around the apartment, definitely need to get my letter sent off to my dad in Cali, and spruce up the apartment.  Get to cooking before I leave out for work, since I am closing tonight, I don’t get in till 9:30 or so tonight.

Yesterday after I concluded my business, I walked down from the apartments to this little Mexican Cafe to check it out and see if it was any good.  El Farro is the name of the Mexican cafe.  Well I got there during part of the Lunch buffet.  It was a nice little joint, nothing really to write home about though, the food was alright, what I had anyway, I did love the decor of the place, there were lighthouses all over, and I love lighthouses.  In all, it was OK.

I want to taste Austin, to consume what it has to offer in the form of food and drink, non alcohol of course lol.  So stay tuned as well to reviews on the places I hit up.

Today I am…  Pondering.
