Wine(ing) the day away

So October is here, and that makes me smile, this happens to be my birthday month.  I will grace 42 come Wednesday the 7th.  Life is well life these days.  I have had my ups and downs this year, but nothing that has broken me.  Stronger and wiser I say.

Today I am depending it with the rents, basking at their apartment.  Sitting on the patio balcony sipping wine with my mom as we talk and enjoy this fall weather.

Wine down Sunday.

My dad will officially be down here the 23rd.  And San Angelo will be just a memory in the books.  He is So ready to be here now.

I will say it is good having them here.  Still having my life independence is awesome, but having the other is great also.

Today is a beautiful day, my day off and the weather is perfect.  So hope your day is coming along awesome.  Get out and enjoy.

Week 25:  ( picture this )

Another new food find.  Figured, hey let’s just see.  Of course I am not a fish fan, they did have other things that I could indulge in.  Took mom and dad there, they loved it, so did I.  Looks like another added to the good food lists.

They had the catfish/shrimp combo.

And I had the chicken pasta plate.

Oh yes, also drank their tasty margarita

So this has been, a very pleasing week.  Let the upcoming week be as sweet.

A Spring in my step!

Indeed!  Spring has sprung, and so have I.  Yesterday, my sister bought me new shoes.  Some pretty fly sketchers.  So now today I am truly breaking them in.  After all the rain the past couple days, today looks mighty fine.  I have so taken advantage of it, and of having this day off as well.

After seeing the family off, I hopped on the bus and headed down to the Zilker Botanical Garden.  Such a beautiful day to go take photos.  So once I get them done, I will post.

Seems as though March is going well, a little hiccup., did not get that job I had applied to, no worries, as I see it, perhaps it just was not for me at this time.  I still have employment, making a bit more than when I started, all is good.  Will still continue to put in Apps to other places as well.  Life is good.

So in two weeks, me and mom will be seeing Stevie Wonder, too, too, exciting.  There are also a couple more concerts I am looking into as well.  Stay tuned!  So now, I am on my way back home, today has been a wonderful day indeed!

Day 314:

Today I am…  Soaking it in.  A beautiful fall day!  I am off work, standing here on my balcony looking at the beautiful day God has given.  I was headed to the library, but turned around.  I seem to have misplaced my library card, and I was going to see if I had the number memorized, but turned around and came back home.  My body is telling me to rest this day.  There will be more days that I can do the library thing.  So here I am.

Soon the lovely fall greens and orange will give way to browns and grays.  The trees will bare their leaves, and you will see nothing more than bare branches.  But that is a story for another day.  🙂

Today is a day to enjoy the sun, breeze, and beauty.

Today I am…  Soaking it in.

Day 228:

Today I am…  Feeling Powerful!  The power of Hercules that is, well a figure of speak.  Today me, my mom, and dad, went to watch Hercules at the movies, we were suppose to go yesterday, but ended up back in San Angelo, well we got back into town before noon, went to eat at the Luby’s, went back to the apartment.  Then headed out to watch Hercules.  Which in my opinion was awesome, the rock, rocked!

I have had so much fun these past few days with my mom, always a good time.  Her and my dad will be leaving out in the morning back to Angelo.  Always sad to see them go, but always a good time when they come down.  So the night has been well, and getting the last few hours before bedtime in with my mom, loving our grown-up talks.  Here’s to enjoying the weekend friends.

Today I am…  Feeling Powerful!

Day 75:

Today I am…  Working.  Ah yes, this week is all work, I have the 3 to 11 spot this week, and on Saturday I get the 2:30 to 10:30 pm spot, so that means that I am going to miss the Zilker kite fly this year, yes it saddens me.  I have been wanting to go to this for the past 3 years, but I have to work Sunday the 2nd, and will not be able to go.  I am really hoping that I will have some days off during SXSW which starts on the 6th of next month, but the music part starts on the 11th or 12th I believe and doesn’t end till the 16th.  So in that span, I am hoping that I can get to it let’s keep those fingers crossed.  I know if I do go, that I am going to have to have some money saved, because I will have to definitely take a taxi home, I am hoping the buses stay out longer, well at least the one I want so that I can then catch a taxi home from the park and ride, which isn’t that far from where I live.  I will have to ask the bus drivers about the scheduling on that.  I am excited though.

So my mom and dad are coming today, but only be staying overnight, they are picking up this piece of furniture that she had paid for down here, it’s a nice glass entertainment piece.  Dad had the day off today, and his usual day off  Sunday, so they are driving down to pick it up.  I will get to see mom next month for longer, it’s hard to see them both together, since dad works all week, and only have Sunday off.  I will probably only get to see them for an hour before I have to head to work, then of course once I get home from work tonight, a couple of hours before I go to sleep, and the morning before they take off back to San Angelo.  It’s always nice to see them.

It is really nice to be working where I am not standing all day, dealing with out of control customers and their equally out of control children.   I know the weather is pretty dang sweet this week.  I love this kind of weather, I feel more in my elements then, nice, sunny, and wonderful.  Here’s to more days like this.  Must wrap this up for today.  Enjoy your day reader’s.

Today I am…  Working.

A joyful noise

The sounds of the season.  One of the first times in a long time that truly sounds great.  See, working in retail the day after Thanksgiving, it would be all day nonstop Christmas music, and when it’s that piped in stuff from muzak, there is no escaping it.  That was a real downer, so when it was actual time to be enjoying Christmas music, I was sick of hearing it.  This year total opposite I still work retail; but there is not 24/7 tunes going on, which makes for a much merrier Deborah.

I am so enjoying the sounds of this season.  My favorite song happens to be The Christmas Song.  I can listen to that song anytime of the day and night.
A Christmas of firsts for me.  There is going to be a Christmas tree lighting at the capitol, I am going, there have been so many things I have missed out on, but now I am able to go and do.  I am living in an amazing city, time to take advantage of all it has to offer, and get some photos in as well.  I am so blessed.

So here’s to all, and the celebration of this season.
