Well, seems like I have gotten onboard with the relaxation of adult coloring books. I bought myself one yesterday, and this is the fist page I did, let me tell you; so relaxing. So total win-win for me. All adults out there who still have a passion for coloring, get out there and color your world.
Well, onward sweet flowering life. About 3 weeks ago, I ended my stint with that place I was, one of which I shant mention, and now I am working for a temp agency, and my first gig started today, I had a day of training on Saturday, and today was my full day of work, sure, it is only for a week, then I move on to other pastures. It is pretty interesting indeed, this stint is for a florist in the city, I am at the front counter, is it pretty busy, for this will be mother’s day, and it will be crazy. I never knew so much went in to flowers, oh the business behind the petals and stems. I was a bit nervous, but the crew I work with is so very gracious, and I feel very comfortable in this spot. I am really digging this. I will get new assignments for now, this is working for me, of course, always looking for longer term things, as the process goes on. Here’s to the sweet smell from the flowers of life.
So as the story goes, sitting on the pond at lake Marble falls, not doing any fishing, just photographing things. My mom hooked a big un’. Well I have no photo to show, only because, it snapped her line, and got away. Aww, but it was a huge one indeed. She was using a piece of slim Jim as her bait. I do think it was a bass, it was really big, and it really set the tone for her day, because she did not catch another big fish for the rest of the afternoon. But that did not stop my dad from catching a nice haul, he caught a medium fish, then some smaller ones. It was a perfect day for him, but in all it was a pretty good day out on the pond for all. Here are some of the photos I took.
Here’s to having fun, good family, and fine fishing. See you on the lake side of life.
With my mom, this would be her first trip to an Austin museum, so I took her to The Blanton Museum downtown. She loved it, now she can’t wait to go to more museums. One of the things I love about having my mom living here in this city, is that there are more things to do with her, more food to eat, more places to see, and more things to do, yes, I love this city.
Today, I helped my mom take down here Christmas tree, sure, you are probably thinking that this should have been done a few weeks ago, well you are probably right, as would my mom be, but I convinced her to keep it up a few more weeks, but today was here point were she wanted it down, so it came down and got packed up for another year.
So then as the day went on, got together with my friend, and we took a trip out to Mayfield park, I had never been there, and for me, it was another adventure in Austin. Here are a couple of photos that I took, the view was amazing to me, I would say it was peaceful, but that would be crazy, it was full of peacocks, and peacocks are loud, beautiful; but loud. I still had a blast going to this park.
We were going to go to Mount Bonnel, but it was so crowded trying to find parking, think we will have to choose another day to hit that spot, from what little I’ve seen riding up that way, it will be a most awesome trip. So I hope you enjoy these photos, because I had a great day today.
The OMG! Cheesecakery trailer was on the grounds of the tour of lights, this is just one of the food trailers that I have been wanting to try, and I surely got the chance a couple of nights ago. Can you say heaven in little tins, OMG is right!
Not the best picture of this creation, but it was heaven, this is a new york cheesecake with strawberry balsamic sauce, and it was truly delicious. My friend had the same, but with a mexican chocolate sauce, both were out of this world delicious. Just another notch in my list of food trailers. Life is delicious and so was this.
To the sweet sounds of carolers on the steps of the capitol, so many people were down at the capitol last night, so what all the to do was about, well last night was the lighting of the capitol tree, and a down town stroll. I had missed the last two tree lighting due to weather, and also being ill. So being the weather was pretty dang perfect, and I was feeling pretty cheery as well, it was the perfect time to go down town and see that tree.
So I invited my mom to come along, and we boarded the bus and headed downtown. We got there during the middle of the caroling, then it was time to light the tree. People were buzzing about, and there was a slight chill in the air, nothing that was too much. It was really nice out, so we gathered around the tree, and the countdown began. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Lights on, and all smiles and cheers. There was a light show, the tree itself bright with lights, sparkle and glitter.
With that, there was a downtown stroll, and food available, smells, sights, and sounds. A perfect time, with perfect company. With all that, here are some photos of the night. Enjoy.
