Fifty-Two Weeks of My Healing…

Week 51:

No matter what, there was love.  No matter the situation, there was love. It was truly till death do they part.  It has been a year now yesterday.  It still hurts like the beginning.  I cried so much, but life, life moves forward; whether you cry or not.

This has been quite the year…  the struggle is real, but my God is more real, and I know that He watches over me, and my family.

One more week left in this journey, it has been a long task, but one I can see my healing beginning.  It will take a bit, I just needed a start.  I love you mom.

Free museum day…

Was yesterday, was going to attempt 3.  The LBJ, The Harry Ransom, and The Bob Bullock.  I only made one.  The Bob Bullock. This was my second time being here, it was fun, but the weather was hot out, so I only stayed for an hour. Here are a few photos.

La Belle was the star of my show.  Took other photos, but loved this ship one.  Enjoy.

Caught up in the rain

So today I decided to go bus hopping, I already had in mind where I was headed.  The thing is, I left the house sans umbrella, knowing the possibilities the skies would open up with rain.  Nice move on my part.  To which they eventually did and I got a little wet.  Of course before that happened, I did get to snap off a couple of phone pics to my destination.  In all, I did accomplish that.  Here are a couple of photos from The Hope Outdoor Gallery.

I had also planned on going to the Brodie Oaks shopping plaza, but the rain put that plan to a stop.  Another time, another time.  Though the entire day was not a loss.  Looking forward to visiting graphfitti park again.

The One that got away…

So as the story goes,  sitting on the pond at lake Marble falls, not doing any fishing, just photographing things.  My mom hooked a big un’.  Well I have no photo to show, only because, it snapped her line, and got away.  Aww, but it was a huge one indeed.  She was using a piece of slim Jim as her bait.  I do think it was a bass, it was really big, and it really set the tone for her day, because she did not catch another big fish for the rest of the afternoon.  But that did not stop my dad from catching a nice haul, he caught a medium fish, then some smaller ones.  It was a perfect day for him, but in all it was a pretty good day out on the pond for all.  Here are some of the photos I took.

Here’s to having fun, good family, and fine fishing.  See you on the lake side of life.

Awesome Finds

Yesterday me, mom, and dad went on a little day trip. To Marble Falls.  Which is a gem of a place, it was beautiful and peaceful.  This place had good fishing spots, something we have been looking for since moving here, now we found it.  It is about nine miles out of Burnett Texas.  There are fishing places in Austin, but this place is gorgeous.  I love day tripping, and always have fun when with my mom and dad that way. But that is a story for another day.  Today is a day of photos from my day trip to Marble Falls.  Enjoy.

Another thing I saw on our way to marble falls, was in Burnett Texas, they have an air museum.  They are also having an air show in September, and I am hoping that I can attend that.  Too Soon to tell, but keeping fingers crossed, since I have a thing about air shows, and have missed them for so many years.  It would be good to get to one.  Another story for another day my friends.

Sucky Service, but dam good food!

So yesterday, me and a friend went out to eat, we chose to stop by the Applebees on N IH35.  We were seated, and our waitress came and took our order, first off, I asked for water with lemon, and I got Water with no lemon.  Next we ordered our food; I got the order of Chicken Tenders and Fries, my friend ordered a Grilled Steak and potatoes, the food was very delicious.  The service not so; my friend had gotten a Blackberry Honey Iced tea, after I tasted hers, I ordered one as well.  It took like forever to get that tea, plus she had messed up other peoples orders as well, she had to keep coming back to tables to re get what they had ordered, then she gave me a refill, of the suppose tea, which happen to be just plain tea, and not the blackberry honey.  It is a good thing the friend was paying, for that waitress would not have gotten any kind of tip, Besides that, the food was delicious.  Eat your heart out.

I won’t be going back to this particular Applebees , but there are others to choose from in the city.

A Day at the Museum

With my mom, this would be her first trip to an Austin museum, so I took her to The Blanton Museum downtown.  She loved it, now she can’t wait to go to more museums.  One of the things I love about having my mom living here in this city, is that there are more things to do with her, more food to eat, more places to see, and more things to do, yes, I love this city.

A Day at the Park

Today, I helped my mom take down here Christmas tree, sure, you are probably thinking that this should have been done a few weeks ago, well you are probably right, as would my mom be, but I convinced her to keep it up a few more weeks, but today was here point were she wanted it down, so it came down and got packed up for another year.

So then as the day went on, got together with my friend, and we took a trip out to Mayfield park, I had never been there, and for me, it was another adventure in Austin.  Here are a couple of photos that I took, the view was amazing to me, I would say it was peaceful, but that would be crazy, it was full of peacocks, and peacocks are loud, beautiful; but loud.  I still had a blast going to this park.

We were going to go to Mount Bonnel, but it was so crowded trying to find parking, think we will have to choose another day to hit that spot, from what little I’ve seen riding up that way, it will be a most awesome trip.  So I hope you enjoy these photos, because I had a great day today.
