To my apartment, me and the little girl. She sniffed, slinked, and scurried around the place. Meowing loudly, finally getting familiar with things. She loves the new cat tree, got a real bargin at pet smart. What I thought was 99 bucks, was on sale for 69 dollars. Oh believe me, I spent money last night, between the cat and some food for myself, I almost wept, but it was necessary.
I now really look forward to coming home after a long days or nights work to see my kittie girl. Now that she is mine and my responsibility. Anyways, there are great responsibilities as a adult I have to do Monday, one of which, need to update my resume. I am trying to stick with this job, for at least a year, not sure that will happen, as so much nonsense is going on there. So that is that.
Last weekend, went to the free day at Zilker, went to the botanical garden. Invited nephwe and sister who have never been, it was great fun. Photos below.
Welp, until the next adventure, keep it fun.
Chai Latte and Salted Caramel Cupcake. Yeah, my Saturday is going nice. Now let the workday begin.
What I love about the early mornings in my life; are that it is filled with peace and semi-silence. Here I am sitting out at the park next to Central Market, waiting for the time when have to be on the grind. it is relatively quiet. There is bustling from time to time, with joggers on the trails, and the engine hum from the truck waiting to unload; otherwise it is a nice morning. I so love the early morning hours.
The weather is nice at the moment, but the gray of the clouds are moving in. weather is about to turn cold.
Glitches in my mom’s move to the rehab, her platelets were too low, so they gave her another round of blood, and is keeping her at the hospital. She will be there all this week, and weekend. They will see what’s what after. I terribly hate what is going on with her, to see her in such pain. Family, friends, and prayers is what keeps me sane. To God goes the glory.
Yesterday I had my first Chai Latte in a year. From Central market of course. I am about to walk over and get me one before work. I have definitely missed them.
So I shall enjoy my quiet time this morning, and I hope your day is filled with some quietness as well. Until the next time, enjoy.
My mom has mylodysplastic Syndrome, (MDS) The myelodysplastic syndromes are hematological medical conditions that cause ineffective production of all blood cells. Patients with MDS can develop severe anemia and require blood transfusions. In some cases, the disease worsens and the patient develops cytopenias caused by progressive bone marrow failure. The outlook in MDS depends on the type and severity. Many people live normal lifespans with MDS.
Which means her bone marrow is pretty Jacked up. She will see doctor after doctor for this, in fact she has to go to a doctor who will see if she qualifies for a Trial research for some medication. Instead of having to see about experimental medical treatments in Houston. Will keep all updated and posted. For today, it looks like she will be doing treatments here in Austin.
I have decided that I am going to stay home with her while this is going on, and find a job closer to home, instead of being all the way out south, and taking forever to get back north and with her. Thank God that my dad is working, as well, but for now, I am going to be there while he works to keep bills paid. I will look for something closer. Because I still need to get my bills paid as well. But It will be alright, God has his hands on our family. All the prayers of family and friends. Thanks for all those who prayed and are still praying.
Today has been a wild day, but I know my mom is so very strong, and she is going to beat this thing.
Tonight, my mom has been released from the hospital. Yay! She has to do some follow ups, and they are somewhere down town, but we will take a taxi to get her to them. I am glad she is coming home, I have missed her so much, you know… You don’t know what you got until something happens, I know I need to be a bit more patient with her, I am working on that. I love my mom very much. I want to have more good times than the not so good times with her, as much as I can.
she is pretty much medicated to the hilt, so hopefully she sleeps well tonight, without much pain. Got all her meds filled, and believe me there are a lot of them. My oh my! Anyway, that is the latest on my mom.
So today I stayed home and cleaned her apartment, so that it will be much easier for her to maneuver around her apartment, being there were lots of things that I had to put away. I am tired now. I did happen to get in the rest of The Get Down on netflix. It is a awesome show, season 1. I do hope there will be a season two, just have to wait and see. Well that is about it for tonight, so until the next time. Keep it nice and easy.
So today I took off work, needed a little mental break. Today was well needed. So me and mom did some end of summer claening of my storage. When they came here a year ago, they stored their stuff in my storage. So now, it is time to clean, throw away, shred, donate stuff they will not need. We are almost done, with the exception of a couple of boxes. Then the stuff they need to keep, and want to take to their apartment they can.
Speaking of work, it has been going. I am hanging in there, abour to go from tier 1 to tier 2 in another week. I can say it can be trying at times;but nothing like my last call center job. To be continued!!!
I am savoring my weekend, this has been a long work week for me, a long training work week. The training is over, passed the test, now will be out on the floor for another two weeks, 4 hours on the phones, and 4 hours in the class for Quality, I really haven’t made it, made it, but I am moving towards it all. That last test was a toughie, but in all 17 people made it through. We started out with 22, and ended with 17. I really do hope I like it better than that last job. I know I feel a lot different, I still get the anxiety, but it is not anywhere like the last job. To be continued…
Today the rents and I went down to Burnett TX, there is this little eatery there called Cafe 2300, the food is fantastic, and the wait staff and owners are delightful. The place is up for sale, it has been since October, looks like the owners want to sell to be closer to family in Dallas TX. Sad for us the patrons when it happens, but happy for the owners. Just hope we have more time spent there before it happens.
It is almost the end of August, can you believe it, the months are moving on. Next stop September!
